DescriptionCooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Professional Geologist (PG) for a top Environmental Consulting leader in Queens, NY.
This critical role involves managing and executing high-stakes environmental projects, ranging from initial site assessments to complex remediation, across commercial and industrial properties. The PG will serve as a technical subject matter expert, balancing sophisticated field investigations with high-level data analysis and regulatory reporting. This position is designed for a motivated professional who is passionate about protecting public health and ensuring environmental integrity through technical excellence and mentorship.
Job Responsibilities
- Site Assessments: Lead and execute Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to identify and mitigate environmental liabilities.
- Field Investigations: Conduct and oversee specialized field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling.
- Remediation Management: Support the design and implementation of site remediation activities and strategies.
- Technical Reporting: Analyze complex environmental data sets and author comprehensive technical reports in strict accordance with NYSDEC and federal standards.
- Consultative Guidance: Provide expert-level guidance on environmental conditions, regulatory compliance, and long-term site strategies to clients and stakeholders.
- Mentorship: Oversee and develop junior staff, providing training on field techniques, safety protocols, and professional reporting.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with engineering and project teams to ensure the timely and successful completion of diverse environmental portfolios.
RequirementsEducation & Licensing
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science is required (Master’s degree preferred).
- Active Professional Geologist (PG) license is REQUIRED.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation is required.
- Proven track record in conducting field investigations and complex data interpretation.
- Deep working knowledge of federal, state (NYSDEC), and local (NYC OER) environmental regulations.
Skills & Technology
- Technical: Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and environmental data management software is a significant advantage.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills, with a specific ability to synthesize technical data into clear executive reports.
- Compliance: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the New York metropolitan area.
