DescriptionEnvironmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs at TTAI. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulations while promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and company EHS policies.
- Conduct routine safety and environmental audits, inspections, and walkthroughs to identify hazards and verify proactive safety measures (e.g., HAZCOM, confined space, electrical safety, fire safety).
- Perform incident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate hazards and prevent recurrence.
- Support and maintain environmental programs including HAZCOM/SDS, waste reduction, waste disposal, and related compliance documentation.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, programs, procedures, and work instructions.
- Provide EHS training and guidance to team members on safety practices, emergency response, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with all departments to understand operational needs and ensure EHS requirements are integrated into daily activities.
- Monitor and track EHS performance metrics, trends, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate and support emergency response planning, drills, and first aid response during incident management.
- Assist with Workers’ Compensation administration and employee follow-up.
- Evaluate powered industrial truck (forklift) operation, crane activities, and other high-risk tasks for compliance and safe practices.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies as needed and support required reporting.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, permits, and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of EHS objectives.
- Ability to respond to incidents and participate in emergency response activities as needed.
QualificationsRequired Education & Experience (Qualifications) – Must meet at least two of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
- OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, or similar safety certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements
