Toyotomi America Corporation (TAC) in Springfield, KY manufactures metal stampings for the OEM Automotive Industry. Summary/Objective
The role of the Safety/Environmental Manager is to plan, manage and carry out policies relating to health, safety, environmental, and security. This is performed personally and by instructing and managing subordinates. The Safety/Environmental Manager will also work to increase the skills, knowledge and leadership of all subordinates, thereby creating a progression within the department for greater responsibilities. The Safety/Environmental Manager will work with other managers and upper management to carry out the plans and policies of Toyotomi America.
Essential Functions
The Safety/Environmental Manager must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the role which may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plans and provides daily management of all safety, environmental, workers compensation, fleet vehicles and security programs.
- Work with all plant staff and team members to provide a safe workplace through team building, communication strategies, accident/environmental issue investigation and follow up.
- Assess team member safety training needs, develop and provide specific training programs for all team members.
- Plan the development of safety and environmental policies and procedures to assure legal compliance for EPA, OSHA, records and training requirements.
- Manage all aspects of the worker’s compensation program including investigation, submission to carrier, coordinating treatment and return to work for injured team members. Also participate in meetings with insurance carriers as instructed from upper management.
- Lead plant security operations and maintain readiness for all emergency situations (inclement weather, evacuation, active shooter, etc.).
- Manage and help conduct the company’s ISO 14001 program.
- Manage and prepare annual departmental budget for health, safety, security, fleet and environmental activities.
- Work closely with President and Upper Mgt. to carry out specific goals not otherwise listed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in health and safety preferred. Five to ten years health/safety/environmental experience in an industrial environment.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to conditions of heat in the summer and cold in the winter and will work near moving mechanical parts. Uniform clothing and PPE provisions are provided by the company and are designed to assist with these conditions. Team members are also exposed to noise, which may require the use of hearing protection in certain areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Overtime may be required as needed by the company.
Occasional travel is required to fulfill OSHA, EPA and other requirements.
Education and Experience:
The Safety/Environmental Manager should have a degree in health and safety and experience as noted above.
