About the role
Kick‑start your Contaminated Land Management career with WSP’s Canberra-based Contaminated Land Management team! If you’ve got around two years’ experience - maybe after completing a graduate program or early consulting role - this is your chance to step up, build your technical skills, and work on impactful projects across the ACT and NSW as an Environmental Scientist - Contaminated Land Management.
You’ll support experienced contaminated land professionals, working across environmental due diligence, site investigations, remediation planning and more. Expect plenty of hands‑on field work, sampling soil, groundwater, soil vapour, air and landfill gas, followed by data analysis and reporting that helps shape project outcomes.
You’ll also build foundations in:
- Project planning and stakeholder communication
- Environmental monitoring and contractor coordination
- Data interpretation and technical report writing
- Budgeting, client management and proposal preparation
We operate across Transport, Government, Defence, Energy, and Property, giving you exposure to diverse clients and real career‑building experience.

About you
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A genuine interest in contaminated land
- At least two years' work experience in a similar role
- Some CLM experience—or broader environmental experience with exposure to geology, soils, hydrogeology or environmental chemistry
- An understanding of NSW and ACT environmental regulations
- Willingness to do field work (up to 75%)
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Relevant Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering degree
- Australian Driver’s License
