TheMillHSEManageristheleaderoftheEnvironmental,Health,andSafetyprograms,policies,and proceduresattheReadingMill.TheHSEManagerisresponsibleforallfacetsofday-to-day operationsfortheenvironment,health,andsafetydepartment.Thisincludesresponsibilityforsafety, environmental compliance, employee engagement, process productivity, efficiency, area financial performance,andqualityfortheHSEdepartment.Furthermore,theHSEmanagerinterfacesdirectly withcommunityleadersandregulatoryagenciestorepresentthemillwithinthecommunity.This positionreportsdirectlytotheMillManagerandisamemberofthemill’sleadteam.
TheJobYouWillPerform:
TheHSEManagerwillbeheavily involvedinabroadspectrumofareas includingoperations, maintenance,andpeople.
Ensurethemillcomplieswithallapplicableenvironmental,healthandsafetylawsand regulationsandcorporatepolicies
Manageallregulatoryreportingrequirementsandpermittingprocesses
Support all safety andenvironmental incident investigation processes, including reviewing investigationsandcorrectiveactions
Liaisewithlocalhealthcarefacilitiestopartnerwiththemillfortreatmentservices
Develop, implement, and maintain effective systems, procedures and training to achieve an accidentfreeandenvironmentalincidentfreemill
Implementmillandcompanyhealthandsafetyprogramstoidentifyandreduceriskfrom hazards
Manage mill and company safety initiative progress and tracking systems, including serious injury and fatality prevention, leading indicator tracking program, top 5 hazard identificationand remediation, critical health and safety program gap closure, among others
AchievecontinuousimprovementthroughsustainableHSEmanagementsystems
Drive initiativestoidentifyanddevelopprocessesforcontinuousimprovement
Providevisibleandactiveleadershipindeliveringexcellentsafetyresults
CoordinatewithintheHSEdepartmentand other business units to optimizearea performance to meet the needs of the department and the mill, including process balances as needed (e.g. upsetconditionsandoutages)
