Expected Length of Internship:
- Duration of Internship will be one Semesters (Summer)
- As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it does not interfere with the essential functions of the position.
Education/Experience:
- Currently enrolled in BS electrical or mechanical engineering program required.
- First Solar encourages all interns to register with their university.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and Power Point.
- Basic programming experience recommended but not required.
- Strain Measurements and Data Acquisition experience recommended but not required.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- General electrical/electronic knowledge.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Self-directed, proactive approach to problem solving.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Basic Internship Scope (Project):
- Support new test and characterization equipment development projects consisting of concept development, specification development, experimentation, gauge R&R and data analysis and scripting.
- Execute planned experiments and equipment qualification testing. Includes collecting, analysing data and reporting results.
- Assist with the different in-house and outdoors module reliability testing and activities.
- Write work/test instructions.
- Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.
