What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to conceptualize and develop the range extended electric vehicle platform, which includes the chassis & drive train, battery pack, range extender, and key structural components.
- Partner with other concept & systems architect teams to come up with solutions to engineering & functional challenges through creation of 3D CAD packaging proposals.
- Critically review available technical systems and propose an engineering improvement &/or customer experience
- Develop the concept architecture and vehicle integration for the scalable platform.
- Collaborate in design & creating a 3D input for simulation environment that allows the system architecture, concepts & ideas to be put to test for other systems engineers to utilize.
- Create detailed design documentation, including 2D and 3D drawings, specifications, and design guidelines for the platform.
- Creating prototype architectures for physical and computer verification & stress testing.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in concept engineering, specifically with concept lead platforms/variants, module selection and modification in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA V5, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, and other design visualization tools. PLM experience is highly appreciated.
- Proficiency in office products such as Microsoft Office Suite and JIRA
- Familiarity with automotive industry safety standards and regulations including IIHS/NHTSA, SAE, and C/FMVSS
- Proven ability to work in a truly cross-functional and global environment
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
