Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products — from lithium–sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries. Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.
At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose — and with people who want to make a difference. We’re not just developing advanced supermaterials — we’re about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.
We’re entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.
Apply now to join our team and be part of something bigger than yourself — where collaboration, creativity, and purpose come together to build the technologies that will define the next century.
At Lyten, we’re building the next generation of energy storage technologies that will power a safer, more sustainable future. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering the core firmware that runs on our Battery Management Systems (BMS) software that directly impacts safety, performance, and reliability at scale.
The role is available in both Gdańsk and Stockholm, where you will work at the intersection of hardware, systems, and data, collaborating closely with hardware engineers, system architects, and data scientists to transform complex requirements into robust, safety-critical embedded software.
What you’ll do
Own the architecture, design, implementation, and verification of core BMS firmware.
Develop high-reliability embedded software in C, compliant with functional-safety standards.
Design firmware modules and interfaces for cell monitoring, balancing, SOC/SOH estimation, and protection algorithms.
Optimize CPU, memory, and power usage to meet real-time constraints.
Debug complex hardware-software interactions across MCU peripherals (ADC, SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet).
Drive software quality through unit testing, automated regression, code reviews, and static analysis (MISRA-C).
Produce clear technical documentation: design specs, interface definitions, and release notes.
What you bring
8+ years of embedded software development experience, including 4+ years in battery-related systems.
Deep understanding of microcontroller architectures and real-time embedded systems.
Proven experience implementing battery-management algorithms (cell balancing, SOC/SOH, protection).
Expert-level C programming skills (MISRA-C:2004/2012 compliance is a strong plus).
Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and static analysis tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex, cross-disciplinary issues.
A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
How you succeed here
You take full ownership — from concept through delivery — and care deeply about the impact of your work.
You thrive in fast-paced, international environments and enjoy close collaboration across teams.
You’re curious, pragmatic, and motivated by seeing your work used in real products by real customers.
You value quality, flexibility, and continuous improvement, and you bring positive energy (and a sense of humor) to the team.
