Location: 100% Remote (with up to 20% travel)

Job Description:
This position reports to the Director of Fuel Supply and will lead the engineering design and management of capital projects for the operation and maintenance of the landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) at three Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities within the company’s portfolio. This person will be a subject matter expert on landfill gas system, coordinate contractors and design firms, manage budgets/schedule for capital projects, and support operations and regulatory compliance.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
As a Senior Project Manager:
- Direct and manage capital expansion projects through procurement, construction, and closeout to ensure projects are on time and within scope and budget.
- Coordinate and manage external design consultants, contractors, vendors, and others during capital expansion projects
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and procurement documents
- Participate in the development of wellfield capital budgets
- Ensure projects meet environmental compliance and safety requirements in accordance with federal, state, and local safety/environmental regulations and Montauk policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.
As a technical professional:
- Apply engineering expertise to landfill gas and solid waste project design (wells, header piping, condensate and leachate infrastructure, flare, blowers, etc.)
- Utilize engineering expertise to develop standards, best practices, and training related material for wellfield staff across the company
- Review GCCS operational data, liquid data, gas construction data, etc. to assess wellfield performance and propose remediation/optimization projects
- Review technical documents/submittals for consistency with site-specific strategies and operational goals.
Skills Desired:
- Natural, landfill or digester gas experience
- People management skills
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written); capable of preparing technical bulletins, specifications, and presenting to regulators/contractors.
- Detail oriented self-starter.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related field of engineering required. Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience required.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience for capital projects (scope, schedule, budget).
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing
Physical Requirements:
- During site visits, required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes
- During site visits, ability to walk over uneven terrain
Location:
- Fully remote position
- 20% travel required for project kick off meetings, site visits, and site meetings.
