A fast-growing organisation within the renewable energy and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join its finance team based in Cape Town (CPT).

Duties:
- Ensure integrity, accuracy, and compliance across all financial transactions and monthly reporting
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including income statements and balance sheets
- Perform revenue recognition on EPC project contracts in line with IFRS 15
- Submit monthly and ad hoc group reporting packs, including consolidation system submissions
- Ensure accurate cost allocation at cost centre and project level
- Prepare margin analysis tools and reports, and engage with operations on financial performance
- Produce decision-useful financial insights to support management and operational teams
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage working capital requirements
- Maintain and enhance financial models, forecasting tools, and reporting processes
- Reconcile balance sheet items on a monthly and annual basis
- Review payments and statutory reconciliations (VAT, payroll, suppliers, ad hoc payments)
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including audit preparation
- Assist with statutory audits and maintain strong internal controls
- Support tax calculations and submissions (income tax, provisional tax, deferred tax, VAT)
- Assist with foreign payments, forex accounting, and hedging of currency exposure
- Support insurance-related matters and liaise with brokers and external stakeholders
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Streamline and automate finance systems and procedures
- Prepare presentations for management and shareholder reporting
- Act as backup to senior finance leadership when required
- Participate in ad hoc finance projects as needed
Job Experience & Skills Required:Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
- Degree in Accounting (essential)
- BCom (Hons) with majors Accounting (essential)
- CA(SA)
Experience:
- Completed SAICA Articles.
- Minimum of 4 years’ post-articles experience in industry
- Experience within the construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy sector is advantageous
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to deliver results under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Solid understanding of financial controls, reporting, and compliance
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with SAP Business One (advantageous)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective stakeholder engagement across finance and operations
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Self-starter with adaptability, energy, and resilience
