Summary of Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing & Communications, assists with various marketing and social media functions. Organize and attend meetings, collaborate with staff on ideas for social media and marketing presence. Produce and place posts including video, photos and information on appropriate social media outlets regarding recreation activities and MWCD public information items.
Practices standard MWCD safety procedures in performing job duties and assists other MWCD personnel as required.
When appropriate, attends department and other organizational outreach events and meetings.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Duties include assisting in the update of MWCD social media sites including posting photos, videos and information regarding activities on Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Capture high-quality photographs and video footage at events, programs, and designated locations. Edit photos and videos using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or similar tools. Organize and catalog media content for use in marketing, social media, and archival purposes. Collaborate with the marketing or communications team to meet creative goals and project timelines. Support pre-production planning, including scriptwriting and storyboarding when needed.
Travels to various locations to take photos and videos for use on social media posting for the MWCD Facebook accounts, Instagram accounts and other social media outlets.
Assists Director of Marketing & Communications with promotion of programs in parks / marinas as directed.
May assist staff with writing and/or proofreading various publications such as newsletters, advertisements and press releases.
QualificationsSkills and Abilities

Education:
|
Working towards a college degree, in a related field (e.g., Photography, Videography, Media Productions, Marketing /Communications, Graphic Design, or Public Relations). College level coursework in Marketing.

Experience:
|
Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space, previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus. Experience with cameras and video equipment.

Computer Skills:
|
Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, internet, and Outlook. Experience with graphic design software, video production and editing preferred. Ability to learn other software programs is required.

Certifications & Licenses:
|
Driver’s license valid in the State of Ohio.

Abilities:
|
Must be an effective communicator, both written and oral. Ability to communicate in a friendly, professional manner with the public. Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and follow-up skills required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
