Cashier
Overview
The Cashier is responsible for daily cash handling and treasury-related operational activities, including bank transactions, payment processing, and cash reporting. This role supports the establishment of an independent finance function and ensures proper segregation of duties, cash control, and compliance with internal control requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Process daily cash receipts and payments, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks
- Prepare and submit bank transactions through online banking platforms
- Maintain accurate records of all cash movements and supporting documentation
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Monitor bank balances and support short-term cash position reporting
- Coordinate with Accounts Receivable on customer payment confirmations
- Support Accounts Payable and payroll teams with payment execution, as required
- Assist with opening and maintaining bank accounts, authorized signers, and bank documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, approval matrices, and company treasury policies
- Support internal and external audits by providing cash and bank-related documentation
- Assist in improving cash management processes as the business expands
Key Requirements & Competencies
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2–4 years of experience in cashier, treasury, or accounting operations roles
- Hands-on experience with online banking systems and wire/ACH processing
- Strong understanding of cash controls and segregation of duties
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage routine, deadline-driven tasks
- Manufacturing or corporate treasury experience is a plus
