What We Are Looking For
The Material Handler supports SIRE’s operations by assisting with the movement of trucks and rails cars on the plant site to enable the plant to operate at maximum capacity.
This position works closely with other departments to ensure SIRE continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties
1. Operate grain receiving, ethanol loading, and shipping systems safely and efficiently
2. Receive and unload corn and load ethanol products via truck and rail, including weighing, sampling, and testing
3. Move trucks and rail cars on the plant site as necessary to facilitate effective receiving and shipping
4. Complete required rail safety, grain, and regulatory training and comply with all applicable regulations
5. Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs of receiving and shipping equipment
6. Maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with housekeeping standards
7. Follow all safety, health, environmental policies and laboratory guidance to ensure all ethanol products are Certified with COA prior to loading
Other duties as assigned to accomplish the safe and timely day-to-day operations within the plant.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Valid driver’s license
· Previous work experience with machinery in a manufacturing, grain elevator or agricultural setting, preferred
· Technical trade certifications, preferred
· Previous operation experience of forklifts, skid loaders, pallet jacks and related material handling equipment, preferred
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Basic computer knowledge/skills including Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
· Ability to work well with others and the ability to work independently
