What We Are Looking For
SIRE is seeking a detail-oriented individual to support our team as a Compliance Specialist. The Compliance Specialist supports SIRE’s operations by completing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory filings with various regulatory agencies, keeping up to date on regulatory changes, enhancement and potential automation on the filing and completing the monthly internal controls audit for the company.
This position works closely with other departments to ensure SIRE continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties
1. Prepare and complete annual regulatory calculators, including LCFS and GREET
2. Ensure all required regulatory filings are submitted accurately and on time
3. Review and analyze data to identify discrepancies, unusual results, or deviations from historical trends
4. Stay current on new and evolving regulatory requirements impacting the ethanol industry
5. Identify and recommend opportunities to improve, streamline, or automate regulatory filing processes
6. Conduct audits of internal controls and report findings to the Leadership Team
7. Create, update, and enforce compliance policies and procedures
8. Work directly with internal and external audit teams to explain, document, and support internal compliance processes
Other duties as assigned to accomplish the safe and timely day-to-day operations within the plant.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, but not required
· LCFS and/or GREET calculator experience
· Previous work experience with audits, preferred
· Previous work experience in a compliance/regulatory setting, preferred
· Valid driver’s license
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel
· Ability to work well with others and the ability to work independently
