What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Coordinate and refine control algorithms for state-of-the-art electric vehicle thermal management systems.
- Perform calibration of thermal and climate functionality to deliver optimal performance for the customer and vehicle.
- Ensure that thermal management systems meet industry standards and regulatory requirements for safety, performance, and environmental impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate calibration solutions into the overall vehicle architecture.
- Conduct thorough testing, validation, and optimization of control algorithms.
- Participate in calibration development trips.
- Lead issue resolution for thermal calibration and/or software issues.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in high voltage battery controls system development, preferably in the automotive or energy storage industry.
- Proficiency in control theory, algorithm development, and simulation tools.
- Experience in calibration tools and methodologies.
- Strong programming skills in languages like C, C++, or Python.
- Experience with thermal management systems and associated hardware.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, LIN) and hardware interfaces.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations pertaining to battery technology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Ability to be self-sufficient with minimal direction to meet customer deliverables.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface with colleagues and suppliers around the world
- Ability to read, interpret and generate engineering drawings and specifications.
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
