Pay Range: $65,000 - $95,000 per year
Hours: M-F, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM Eastern Time
Position Summary
Aertssen Logistics is a logistics and warehouse provider for Heavy Machinery. We are seeking an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Manager to develop, implement, and maintain policies and programs that ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace in line with Aertssen Logistics’ core values. This role promotes a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards. The ideal candidate has experience in behavioral safety, OSHA compliance, and safety engineering controls, is a great team player who fosters collaboration across teams to create and enforce a culture of safety, and is a go-getter who oversees agreed-upon improvement programs until completion.
In addition to this focus on EHS, the EHS Manager may also be assigned facility maintenance-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Health
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, training programs, and compliance with PPE requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and track corrective measures.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, safety drills, and first-aid readiness.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
- Stop operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Responsible for the facility's Emergency Response Plan, and the conducting of table tops and tests.
- Conduct weekly safety walks, along with the Operational Team Leads. Document findings and drive improvement until completion.
- Initiate Safety Awareness programs in close collaboration with the HQ in Europe.
Environmental Compliance
- Monitor environmental aspects and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain records of hazardous waste discharge and employee exposure.
- Collaborate with sustainability teams to achieve environmental goals.
Training & Engagement
- Prepare and deliver training on workplace safety, emergency procedures, and environmental awareness.
- Conduct employee standup meetings and safety introductions for new hires.
- Promote employee engagement through campaigns, meetings, and recognition programs.
- Responsible for the safety induction of on-site contractors.
Advisory & Reporting
- Advise leadership and operational teams on EHS matters.
- Participate in safety committees and direct management reviews.
- Collaborate with the EHS team at Aertssen Belgium to benchmark and share best practices to foster a culture of EHS at the group level.
- Develop and maintain safety and environmental performance metrics and KPIs.
- Ensure completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.

Required Skillset
- Proactive in promoting safety and environmental responsibility.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training and lead safety initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Being able to run analyses on safety data independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and safety apps like Driven by Safety.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and supervisory skills.
- Builds collaboration and trust across teams.
- Encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to assess risks and develop solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s degree desirable).
- 3–5 years of experience in EHS management within logistics, warehouse, or industrial environments.
- Health and safety certification required.
- Certifications such as CSP, CHST, OSHA 10- or OSHA 30-Hour are preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout facilities to conduct safety inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs and climb up, under, around, and over large equipment; comfortable working in small, confined spaces, and at heights of up to 30 feet in a non-climate-controlled environment.
