At Global Laser Enrichment (GLE), safety is foundational to everything we do. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to help lead, implement, and continuously improve our safety programs in a highly regulated nuclear environment.
Reporting to the Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Manager, this role serves as a subject matter expert for EHS regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance while actively strengthening GLE’s safety culture across operations.

🦺 What You’ll Do
- Administer and maintain the Company’s EHS plans, programs, and procedures.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with safety requirements and best practices.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and worksite risk assessments.
- Partner with employees and leaders to implement effective hazard controls.
- Perform facility inspections and safety audits; resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain and utilize monitoring equipment such as gas detectors, noise meters, and temperature sensors.
- Ensure PPE, fire protection, eyewash stations, and safety showers are inspected and functional.
- Manage chemical and hazmat spill preparedness and response resources.
- Investigate safety events, perform root cause analyses, and document corrective actions.
- Track and report safety metrics and KPIs.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training in partnership with the Training Manager.
- Report environmental and injury/illness data in compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of GLE’s safety culture.
📘 What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA 300 reporting and incident investigation.
- Experience performing audits and preparing formal reports.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence safe behaviors and train employees effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DOE/NRC Q-Clearance.
🎯 Preferred Qualifications
- Active DOE/NRC Q-Clearance or DOD Top Secret.
- Experience in a nuclear or highly regulated industrial environment.
- Radiation Safety Officer or Radiation Protection Technician experience.
- Knowledge of nuclear safety and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- First Aid and/or CPR certification.
