DescriptionKey Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish and operationalize appropriate strategies to meet Income Insurance’s and the Investment department’s sustainability objectives and targets without compromising investment performance.
• Conduct research on climate change and broader sustainability issues, frameworks, methodologies, tools and policies (e.g. TCFD, TNFD, NZAOA, NZIF, NGFS etc.) to develop and implement decarbonization initiatives for the portfolio.
• Evaluate SI strategies and perform ESG due diligence across public and private market asset classes to support fund selection decisions and ongoing monitoring of EFMs on sustainability-related issues.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools, dashboards and reports to measure and track progress against sustainability objectives and targets.
• Perform sustainability-related & climate risk analyses such as climate scenarios stress testing to inform investment decision making.
Requirements
• Degree and certifications in relevant fields; sustainable investment / finance, environmental science, finance, economics, computer science
• At least 5 years of related experience with familiarity in the area of sustainable investment strategy and frameworks such as NZAOA, NZIF, SBTi etc. from an asset owner or asset manager perspective preferred
• Knowledge of and experience with GHG accounting standards such as PCAF; sustainability systems like MSCI One (ESG Manager, Climate Lab Enterprise / Portfolio Sustainability Insights & Barra), Sustainalytics, Refinitiv etc. to produce and interpret information on carbon and sustainability metrics; as well as disclosure standards & frameworks such as GRI, ISSB, TCFD, PRI, GRESB etc. is an advantage
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python is ideal
• Aptitude for conducting research, report writing, data and statistical analysis as well as visual presentation
• Good interpersonal and effective communication skills to influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders at different levels
• Resourceful and able to work independently as well as multi-task in an inter-departmental, multi-project environment
