The DGR Engineering Electrical Power Department in Rock Rapids, Iowa is seeking a skilled and motivated Environmental Engineer to support our Electrical Power department at DGR Engineering. The successful candidate will work on power generation projects and assist the project team with pollution control, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives. This role involves both fieldwork and office-based analysis, requiring strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
QualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret federal and state regulations and determine applicability to our projects.
- Provide direction and guidance to project teams on current and anticipated environmental issues.
- Conduct environmental audits.
- Prepare environmental assessment worksheets and environmental impact statements
- Prepare air quality permit applications and renewals for new and existing clients.
- Develop air quality dispersion models and emissions calculations.
- Complete annual emission inventories and recurring regulatory submittals
- Provide assistance to clients seeking to comply with regulatory requirements
- Assist with the resolution of compliance manners. Prepare compliance plans.
- Develop and update Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one is a plus.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in environmental modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capable of carrying out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Performs duties with limited supervision.
