The Marketing Specialist manages and implements tactics in an approved strategic marketing plan. The Marketing Specialist is an integral part of the team responsible for supporting overall marketing objectives for the Midwest division and focused on their assigned state, Michigan, and which interfaces with the Midwest division and global priorities of The Nature Conservancy. The Marketing Specialist collaborates with the Associate Director to manage and implement marketing projects and initiatives and manages resources proactively. They integrate TNC global, regional, divisional, and state business unit marketing objectives to meet stakeholders’ needs in support of conservation, policy, and development priorities. This position plans, develops, and manages content for print and digital channels including—but not limited to—social media, email, website, Google, as well as newsletters, annual reports, fact sheets and other print products. They work closely with various constituents such as department staff, field offices, program consultants, and vendors to manage all phases of projects. They may work within budgets to minimize expenses, maximize revenue, and meet quality control standards. They may use software systems to track and analyze program results, report findings, and work with senior marketing managers to implement strategic recommendations.

What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience cultivating and managing customer/colleague relationships.
Experience writing, editing and proofreading.
Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in multi-channel social media work, including the development of content calendars and digital strategies, measuring results, and managing paid ads.
Exceptional collaboration skills.
Experience in CMS, SEO, SEM and Google Analytics/web traffic metrics.
A creative background with experience in digital design and creating social media videos.
Graphic design and layout experience in Canva, Adobe InDesign a plus.
Experience in Michigan’s conservation field and the desire to help convey TNC’s mission to diverse groups.
Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in marketing.
Ability to work independently without requiring detailed management review of general work.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and project management experience.
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $58,000 – $73,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
