Position Summary
The Senior Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting SIRES's operations by ensuring maintenance of machinery and equipment systems by completing preventive and routine maintenance requirements on pumps, motors, conveyor systems, various tools, and production machines. Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoots malfunctions at an expert level. Takes ownership and responsibility for the health of the assets and the success of the plant. This position will have on-call responsibilities. This position works closely with other departments to ensure SIRE continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulator standards.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Trouble-shoot and determine necessary repairs and maintenance quickly and effectively with no supervision needed.
2. Repair and maintain machinery and equipment.
3. Work effectively, either individually or as part of a team, to see jobs through to completion including working overtime as needed.
4. Perform various preventative maintenance checks and repairs on machinery and equipment (vibration detection).
5. Overhaul equipment, welds, pump repair and rebuilding pumps to manufacturers specifications.
6. Welding with TIG, MIG and STICK.
7. Complete Work Orders and document the time, tasks and parts/supplies needed to complete the Work Order in the CMMS software.
8. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Greasing and oiling
b. Rebuilding rotating equipment
c. PM tasks and follow up corrective actions
d. Service of rolling stock and equipment according to service schedule
e. Fabricating
f. Vibration detection
g. Rigging & lifting
9. Housekeeping as related but not limited to the cleanliness and orderly organization of electrical work areas, MCC rooms, electrical enclosures, maintenance shop and DDG building.
10. Maintain updated documentation of all machinery and equipment changes implemented by said individual or contractors hired by the plant.
11. Perform weekly inspection and take an inventory of tools and shop equipment and submit requisition to replace broken or missing items.
12. Perform required maintenance duties as needed on an on-call basis as scheduled.
13. Perform all duties in accordance with safety regulations and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
14. Communicate and interface with production department on job specific information.
15. Follow company policy regarding inventory control practices.
16. Other duties as may be assigned to accomplish the safe and timely day-to-day operations within the plant.
17. Participate in rotational on-call responsibilities during non-business hours
18. Wear personal protective equipment as required by company PPE policies.
Qualifications
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work well with others and ability to work independently.
· 5 Years previous experience with machinery and mechanical equipment.
· Ability to perform CMMS data entry requirements.
· Excellent safety knowledge related to tools and machinery.
· High proficiency in industrial maintenance activities.
· Ability to effectively train other maintenance technicians.
Required
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Work experience & equivalent to 5 years of experience in heavy industrial maintenance
· Valid driver’s license
