Mold Technician – Team Lead (Implementation / PMM)
PURPOSE
Lead and execute mold installation and mold-surface maintenance while coordinating team activities and supporting the implementation of new technologies and processes to ensure safe, efficient, and competitive wind turbine blade production.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
External Experience
Composites, commercial construction, or auto-body experience preferred
Prior experience acting as a lead, trainer, or senior technician strongly preferred
Certifications
Internal LM Trainings / Qualifications
Laminate repair
Gelcoat repair
Crane, aerial lift, and PIT certification
Qualification level 4 (expert) on key mold surface maintenance processes
Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welders, torches, and related equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and coordinate technical teams
Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Mold and Equipment Maintenance Leadership
Lead and perform mold surface, root plate, and PMM maintenance on molds and web mold equipment
Ensure work is executed to quality, safety, and schedule expectations
Serve as the technical point of contact for mold surface condition and repair standards
1. Team Leadership and Coordination
Provide daily work direction, prioritization, and technical guidance to assigned team members
Support onboarding, training, and skill development of technicians
Promote consistent work practices, knowledge sharing, and adherence to standard processes
Act as first-level escalation for technical and execution-related issues
2. Tooling, Fabrication, and Installation Support
Coordinate and assist with installation, commissioning, and training for new or modified tooling
Support mold relocations and mold/web mold installations
3. Technology Implementation and Continuous Improvement
Support Engineering, CI, Maintenance, GIL, and Industrialization teams with new technology implementation
Assist with equipment introductions, documentation, and process validation
Identify improvement opportunities related to mold performance, uptime, safety, and cost
4. Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping
Model and enforce adherence to the GE EHS and Quality Policies
Maintain 5S standards within assigned work areas
Perform and support cleaning activities using dry ice blasting and other approved methods
Execute additional duties as assigned by the company
SUCCESS MEASURES / INDICATORS OF EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE
Consistent mold condition and reduced surface-related defects
On-time execution of PMM and implementation activities
Effective team coordination with minimal rework or safety incidents
Successful implementation of new molds, tooling, and technologies
Demonstrated development and upskilling of team members
