About This Role
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Residential Solar Site Surveyor to complete pre-install site surveys for homeowners across Georgia. You’ll collect the measurements, tilt data, and photo documentation our design and installation teams need to build accurate plans and avoid rework.
This role requires roof-walking when safe and appropriate to verify roof condition/viability, take measurements, and confirm roof plane tilt.
Territory: Georgia (hiring immediately; primary coverage in/around Atlanta (2x) & Columbus Area(s) and surrounding counties
What You’ll Do
Site Survey + Documentation
- Visit residential properties to complete solar site surveys using our required checklist/forms
- Roof-walk (when safe) to:
- Confirm roof plane layout, obstructions, and usable areas
- Capture accurate measurements and tilt (pitch) per roof plane as required
- Assess visible roof condition and flag concerns that could impact install or longevity (see note below)
- Collect complete photo sets of roof, electrical, attic (when accessible), and installation pathways
- Identify site constraints early (roof issues, electrical limitations, shading/obstructions, access limitations)
- Submit complete site survey packages within same day of the appointment
Customer Experience
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and set expectations for next steps
- Confirm site access needs (attic, gates, pets, electrical panel access, etc.)
- Represent the company with a clean, courteous, safety-first approach
Safety
- Follow ladder/roof safety best practices and company safety guidelines
- You are expected to decline roof access if conditions are unsafe (wet/icy roof, excessive pitch, damaged roof, high wind, unsafe ladder placement, etc.) and document the reason
Important note on roof “quality/lifespan”: You’ll document observable conditions (e.g., curling shingles, soft spots, multiple layers, cracked tiles, advanced wear, degranulation, visible leaks, etc.) and flag any concerns. Final determinations are made by the company and/or qualified professionals where needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in at least one of the following: solar site surveying, residential solar installation, roofing, electrical field work, home inspection, or construction field documentation
- Comfortable and capable of roof-walking and ladder use (safety-first)
- Ability to take clear, organized photos and submit accurate notes/forms
- Smartphone/tablet proficiency (apps, forms, photo upload)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel across Georgia
- Ability to lift/carry typical field equipment and work in heat/attics as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with solar survey/design platforms (Aurora, Solargraf, OpenSolar, etc.)
- Familiarity with common residential service panel configurations (for documentation purposes)
- OSHA 10/30, ladder safety training, or similar
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
