As an Environmental Licensing Specialist, you'll conduct comprehensive reviews to assess the impact of nuclear facilities on natural resources as well as prepare detailed reports, and support licensing applications. Your role will also involve developing protection measures, presenting complex information, and occasionally traveling for fieldwork.
- Environmental Impact Assessment & Compliance: Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on air, water, and land resources. Prepare environmental reports in accordance with NRC regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines. Support environmental licensing applications for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practices
- Data Collection & Site Evaluation: Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts. Support the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessments
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns. Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Fieldwork & Environmental Protection: Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures.
