We are seeking a results-driven and technically skilled Technical Sales Manager – Solar Panel Sales to lead business development and client engagement efforts in the Solar Panel market. This role requires a deep understanding of solar technology, system design, and the ability to translate customer energy needs into effective photovoltaic (PV) solutions. You will drive revenue growth, manage key accounts, and serve as the technical expert in sales discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Commercial Sales Team in closing orders by being the Single Point of Contact for all technical queries from Customers
- Develop and deliver customized technical presentations and proposals to clients
- Respond to customer enquiries, concerns, RFQ/Ps/Is with a quick response time
- Stay up to date on solar technology advancements, incentives, and regulations
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure smooth handover and project execution
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide post-sale technical support
- Track sales activities and manage pipeline using CRM tools
- Represent the company at trade shows, expos, and renewable energy events
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify strategic opportunities
- Manage a portfolio of key client accounts, ensuring long-term satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and marketing teams.
- Mentor junior members in the Technical Sales team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of technical sales experience in solar or renewable energy industry
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and BOS components
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding solar sales targets
- Familiarity with local solar permitting, net metering, and subsidy programs
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar solar design software
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho)
Preferred Qualifications:
- NABCEP Certification or equivalent is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of hybrid, off-grid, and grid-tied systems
- Experience managing or training a small team of solar sales representatives
- Understanding of financing options and ROI calculations for solar projects
- Strong understanding of technical products and customer pain points.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills and ability to close contracts with senior-level stakeholders on customer side.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex sales cycles.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as needed (25–50%).
