Job Description and Duties
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of statewide maintenance functions, and the Department’s mission, goals, and policies. They should demonstrate proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, project and organizational management, and building cooperative working relationships with government and public stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to evaluate roadside issues, develop objective recommendations, and guide technical teams toward resolution, are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, including the ability to prepare comprehensive reports, deliver effective presentations, and clearly communicate technical and policy matters to diverse audiences.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Landscape Architect exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
