Falling Waters State Park is looking for a self-motivated park service professional to fill an Administrative Assistant position. This position assists in planning, coordinating and implementing all administrative activities involved in park operations.
Performs fiscal, purchasing, and budget tracking duties for park. Maintains computerized budget tracking system and reconciles with FLAIR. Provides related budget reports to park manager and district. Assists park manager in the planning and administration of park contracts, use agreements and permits. Processes requisitions, bids, and p‑card transactions.
Performs and directs data entry required to maintain park records. Maintains park archival and resource files. Performs or directs adjustments to cash register and/or CSR computer as needed. Prepares and processes paperwork relating to personnel activities to include leave and attendance, selection and recruitment, employee relations and travel.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
- Administrative principles and practices; methods of data collection; principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
- Good public relations
Skill in
- Use of office equipment including computers and related software.
- Operating a cash register and reconciling receipts
- Accurately preparing reports
- Interacting with all internal and external customers and the public in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner
- Utilize a computer including but not limited to software programs such as Microsoft office suite
Ability to
- Successfully complete a background and fingerprint check.
- Collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to accounting, personnel, purchasing and report writing.
- Prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
- Work independently.
- Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
- Assist in formulation of budget preparation. Knowledge of FLAIR, My Florida MarketPlace (MFMP), Quicken, Oculus, PPMTS.
- Compile, organize and analyze data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successfully complete a background and fingerprint check.

Where You Will Work
Falling Waters Sink is a 100‑foot‑deep, 20‑foot‑wide cylindrical pit into which flows a small stream that drops 73 feet to the bottom of the sink. The water's final destination is unknown. Only a few miles south of I‑10, the park provides travelers with a quiet, serene stop on their journey. Visitors can see beautiful native and migrating butterflies in the butterfly garden, take a dip in the lake or have a family picnic. Hikers can experience the verdant, gently sloping landscape of North Florida.
