This is a hands-on environmental leadership role supporting two wastewater treatment facilities within a food manufacturing environment.
We are partnering with a values-driven organization seeking an Environmental Manager to oversee operational performance and regulatory compliance across two nearby sites. This role is well-suited for someone who prefers to stay close to the process, work directly with operators and maintenance teams, and take ownership of day-to-day wastewater performance.
Reporting to the Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety, you will play a key role in keeping systems running safely, efficiently, and in compliance while supporting continuous improvement efforts.
What you will be responsible for
• Oversee daily operations and environmental compliance for two wastewater treatment facilities
• Monitor treatment processes, troubleshoot operational issues, and support consistent plant performance
• Work closely with operators, maintenance teams, and contractors without direct people management
• Coordinate preventive maintenance efforts to minimize downtime and improve reliability
• Prepare and support regulatory reporting across water, air, and waste programs
• Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions
• Perform routine lab testing and contribute to operational improvements and capital projects
What we are looking for
• Five to ten years of wastewater treatment operations experience
• Strong working knowledge of treatment processes and environmental regulations
• Experience in food manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
• Comfortable working across multiple sites and spending time in the plants
• Organized, detail-oriented, and practical in approach
This role offers stability, visibility, growth and the chance to have an impact on environmental performance with a well-known, community-oriented dairy manufacturer.
