We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Protection service as an Environmental Health Officer.
Middlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting consumer interests, and supporting a strong local economy.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our private sector housing team. The team ensures that good housing standards in the private rented sector are achieved and maintained; investigates complaints about substandard conditions and poor management of rental properties; undertakes the licensing of houses in multiple occupation and delivers tenancy protection measures.

Applicants must have a Degree in Environmental Health, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, or other equivalent qualification in a related subject, at least 5 years’ experience working as an Environmental Health Officer or in an equivalent role delivering private or social sector housing functions.
