Position Summary
The Student Assistant for the Ettling Center for Civic Leadership & Sustainability provides clerical & programmatic support, including but not limited to assisting office staff with mass marketing/publications/mail-outs, data entry, filing, customer service, social media & program support. The Student Assistant reports to the Director-Ettling Center for Civic Leadership & Sustainability This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.
Essential Functions
Answer multi-phone line. Actively participate in daily operations (including programs and services) of the Center to ensure all assigned, operational, and support tasks are completed on a daily basis. Assist and support professional and part-time professional staff with the successful development, preparation, implementation, assessment, and completion of programs, services, and activities supported by the Center. Support the daily office needs of the Center by making copies, taking messages, collating, assisting with mailouts, development of flyers and other marketing materials, delivery and collection of mail. Engage in communication and customer service dialogue with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community. Assist with the daily operations of the Cardinals’ Cupboard Food Pantry supported by the Ettling Center. Serve as a guide to the campus and local community members who may need assistance and/or escort to any UIW office on main campus. Communicate the mission, vision, and goals of the Ettling Center for Civic Leadership & Sustainability programs to students, parents, staff, faculty, and global community partners; Participate in projects sponsored and hosted by the Ettling Center. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish. Customer service experience in a high-volume setting. Prior experience working with a non-profit or community-based organization
