SA Recycling is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern for the summer of 2026. In this position you will be assisting with the design, analysis, prototyping and testing of mechanical systems using certain software's and lab tools. You will focus on tasks like 3D modeling, created test protocols, performing analysis, and documenting findings, all while collaborating with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in mechanical principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Modeling: Create/modify 3D CAD models, drafting, and design mechanical components or fixtures.
- Analysis & Testing: Support stress, thermal, performance analysis, run tests (e.g., vibrations, functional), fabricate, samples, and document results.
- Prototyping: Use 3D printers, milling machines, lathes, and shop tools to build and test prototypes.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation (IQ/OQ).
- Collaboration: Work with senior engineers, technicians, and other teams (sales, production).
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Technical: Mechanical design principles, material science, DFM/DFA.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, Communication (Written/Verbal), Teamwork, and self-motivation.
