Position Overview
The Receiving and Outsourcing Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring overall efficiency and compliance. This includes transporting materials across various routes, maintaining vehicle condition, and adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Receiving team at the Stafford Warehouse, inspecting and staging incoming materials, supporting inventory accuracy through cycle counts, and preparing products for shipment in coordination with the Logistics Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a truck to deliver goods and materials to assigned locations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure timely deliveries and pickups, following scheduled routes and delivery instructions.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues or necessary maintenance.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring it is properly secured.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, documenting hours of service, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Maintain clean driving and safety records.
- Communicate effectively with Outsourcing Coordinator and Materials Manager and Lead regarding route changes, delays, or issues.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as checking tire pressure, oil levels, and fuel.
- Handle and report any accidents or incidents, ensuring proper documentation.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials to ensure accuracy and quality before staging.
- Pull, issue, and stage materials in accordance with the production schedule and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by performing cycle counts, labeling materials, and recording their storage locations.
- Prepare finished products for shipment by pulling, packing, and loading products in designated shipping areas.
- Safely operate forklifts, trucks, cranes, and other material handling equipment to move materials, products, and freight between warehouse, manufacturing areas, and delivery trucks.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled inventory areas.
- Work effectively with other team members and departments to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products.
- Record material movements and inventory transactions accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS) and assist in cycle counts.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver’s License ID issued by the State of Texas
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws
- Ability to navigate using GPS, maps, and other route planning tools
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others
- Ability to lift heavy cargo and perform physical tasks as required
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work will be performed with exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and lift equipment.
- Ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to push, pull, and lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds
- May be required to climb stairs, kneel, or crouch to access equipment or retrieve materials
