The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Marketing to provide strategic, creative, and operational leadership for APC's marketing function by developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that build APC's brand, drive visitation, and strengthen audience engagement across the Leaf, the Zoo, and the Park. Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing & Communications, this role plays a key part in positioning APC as a leading cultural and tourism destination through targeted, modern, and measurable marketing initiatives.
The Senior Manager oversees multi-channel marketing efforts — including digital marketing, advertising, tourism campaigns, and content development — ensuring APC’s brand is presented consistently and effectively across all platforms. As APC’s primary day-to-day liaison with the agency of record and key tourism partners, the role supports collaborative campaigns that expand APC’s reach to local, national, and international audiences. In addition, the Senior Manager provides leadership to the marketing team and manages the delivery of internal marketing and creative needs, ensuring materials align with APC’s brand standards and guest experience objectives.
Responsibilities

Develop and lead APC’s overall marketing strategy to grow brand awareness, audience engagement, and visitation across The Leaf, the Zoo, and all major programs and events.
- Oversee integrated marketing planning across traditional and digital platforms to support annual priorities and translate APC’s mission and values into clear, compelling campaigns that inspire community connection, conservation awareness, and guest participation.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Education, Events, Communications, Guest Experience) as well as alongside the on-site Compass Group of Canada's Park Hospitality team, to promote programs, seasonal activities, and hospitality offerings, ensuring strategic coordination, alignment, and cohesive brand storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and manage annual marketing budgets, agency work plans, and media buys, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.
- Position APC as a top tourism destination by using visitor insights, travel trends, and partnerships with Travel Manitoba, Tourism Winnipeg, and other agencies to lead cooperative marketing and campaigns.
- Oversee the development and production of all creative, ensuring strong visual brand alignment, consistent messaging, high-quality execution, and timely delivery of marketing materials including — but not limited to — digital assets, printed collateral, web and social graphics, and signage.
- Lead digital marketing strategy and analytics covering SEO, content optimization, accessibility, user experience, and measurement of performance, ROI, conversions, and audience behaviour.
- Use data-driven insights and research to guide creative direction, evaluate results, improve future campaign effectiveness, and report results and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and support the marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, accountability, and continuous learning for the Marketing Coordinator, Production Coordinator, and Graphic Designer.
Required Education, Training, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Advanced certification in digital marketing, analytics, or destination marketing considered an asset.
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in marketing, with demonstrated success in developing and implementing digital and integrated marketing strategies.
- Proven experience leading tourism or destination marketing campaigns that drive visitation and audience growth.
- Experience working collaboratively with tourism agencies, destination marketing organizations, or hospitality partners.
- Strong proficiency with marketing analytics, CRM tools, and digital advertising platforms.
- Demonstrated success in team leadership, project management, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Excellent written and visual communication skills with an ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content.
- Experience working with cultural, tourism, or non-profit organizations considered an asset.
