DescriptionThe primary objective of the position is to support the execution of HOYA Vision Care’s (HVC) environmental sustainability strategy across global operations, including Hoya Surgical Optics (HSO) and Contact Lens (CL). The Sustainability Manager will contribute to four strategic areas: Energy & Operational Efficiency, Climate & Carbon Impact, Water Stewardship, and Renewable Energy (RE).
The strategic aim of the position is to strengthen HOYA’s environmental performance and reporting capabilities, ensuring alignment with global frameworks such as RE100, Net Zero, CDP, and CSRD. The incumbent will assist in data validation, dashboard updates, feasibility studies, and stakeholder coordination across sites. They will also play a key role in supporting HQ-led sustainability surveys and ensuring timely, accurate site-level responses.
This position is responsible for supporting the delivery of environmental initiatives and reporting. The incumbent will:
• Validate and manage environmental data across sites, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support the development and implementation of site-level energy efficiency and RE transition plans.
• Preparing dashboards, reports, and performance reviews for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with regional PICs and across sites/functions responses to HQ-led sustainability surveys and ensure alignment with global frameworks e.g. CDP, CSRD, RE100, and Net Zero.
• Facilitate cross-functional engagement with site teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders to drive sustainability outcomes.
The position will be primarily measured by (a) the quality and OTIFNE (on time, in full, no errors) of environmental data reporting, (b) progress on pre-agreed RE and EE roadmap by (co) executing key initiatives, and (c) the ability to pro-actively support cross-functional engagement and compliance with external sustainability standards, across HVC, HSO and CL.

• Support energy audits and validate baseline data.
• Assist in ROI/payback methodology workshops and documentation.
• Help establish site-level EE targets and track milestone progress.
• Contribute to mid-year sustainability reviews summarizing initiative impact, including energy efficiency forecasting
Climate & Carbon Impact
• Assist in setting and validating site-level energy and carbon targets.
• Dashboard deployment and real-time tracking systems.
• Help implement cross-division reporting protocols and performance reviews.
• Contribute to validated performance improvements at 3+ sites.
Water Stewardship
• Collect baseline water usage data from major manufacturing sites.
• Support cost-benefit analysis for water efficiency interventions.
• Assist in drafting divisional water roadmap and target-setting guidelines.
Renewable Energy (RE)
• Assist in market studies, vendor engagement, and feasibility validation.
• Help prepare contract frameworks and due diligence documentation.
• Track RE sourcing mechanisms (EACs, PPAs, onsite solar) and support feasibility assessments, including renewable energy mix forecasting.
Sustainability Reporting & Compliance
• Track survey deadlines, consolidate responses, and follow up with site PICs. (OTIFNE)
• Assist in setting up system to check sites’ input when submitting documents and evidences for disclosures and audits.
Cross-Functional Engagement
• Liaise with Operations, Procurement / SCM, Finance, site PICs, HQ, HSO, CL, and external partners.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly updates, dashboards, and workshops.
• Monitor regulatory trends and contribute to internal radar updates.
• Engage with consultants and support workshop facilitation and stakeholder alignment.
Qualifications• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in sustainability, energy, or environmental data management preferred
• Knowledge and Hard Skills:
o Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and sustainability platforms (e.g., Resource Advisor).
o Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
o Familiarity with RE100, Net Zero, CDP, CSRD, and Scope 1–3 frameworks is a plus.
