HAZWASTE PERSONNEL
ICF is seeking a HAZWASTE PERSONNEL to support an EPA contract, Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT) in Denver, CO location is a federal government lab.
The team performs soil, water, air, waste, and biota sampling and analysis for chemical contaminants primarily supporting Superfund site assessment, remediation, and emergency response but also for compliance under the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act. Additional support provided by the team includes field sampling and analysis, biological support, risk assessment, sample receipt and tracking, maintenance and monitoring of laboratory support equipment, chemical and supply inventory, environmental compliance activities, warehouse support, and analytical subcontracting.
Job Description
The Hazwaste Personnel will support the EPA Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT) program in Region 8 by providing support in hazardous waste management, laboratory operations, and logistics. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining safe and efficient handling of hazardous materials. Tasks require collection of properly labeled laboratory waste (liquid and solid) from satellite areas throughout the laboratory (generally in 5 gallon or smaller containers) for consolidation in a single accumulation area prior to transport off-site
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with EPA and RCRA regulations.
- Support analytical laboratory operations, including sample tracking, documentation, and quality assurance processes in compliance with SOPs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to hazardous waste and laboratory activities.
- Utilize business-related software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Collaborate with ICF contractors to ensure program objectives are met.
Basic Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s degree in physical sciences or business and 3+ years of experience in an environmental laboratory setting OR
- High school diploma with 5+ years of experience in an environmental laboratory setting.
Experience & Skills:
- Documented or demonstrated working knowledge of:
- Analytical laboratory operations
- Logistics and hazardous waste management
- Business-related software (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to safely lift 40 pounds.
- US citizenship is required per federal contract requirements.
- Must be able to pass an EPA background check to obtain access to US federal property.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$66,730.00 - $113,440.00Colorado Client Office (CO88)
