Job Purpose: The Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety for Virginia Operations is responsible for providing strategic direction for all aspects of environmental, health and safety including occupational health, safety, hygiene, environmental and sustainability issues. The position also assists the Vice President, Virginia Operations with Strongwell’s Virginia facilities adherence with the policies and practices of the corporation, the company ethics code, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing, monitoring and auditing the Environmental Control System, which must meet the requirements established by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensures accurate submittal of all required federal, state, and local environmental permits and subsequent reporting to include Title V, RCRA, DOT and stormwater management.
- Manages safety training program.
- Maintains site specific EHS programs and plans in accordance with state and federal regulations and company expectations.
- Monitors and evaluates pending legislation to determine the impact on the company.
- Provides leadership to EHS employees.
- Administers internal environmental and safety audits.
- Interfaces with government agencies for regulatory issues.
- Translates and incorporates the strategic business plan into EHS operational plans.
- Enhances the work environment to foster self-reliant, confident, innovative and engaged team members.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications: Experience, Competencies and Education
- Experience interpreting complex laws and regulations
- BA/BS degree
- Experience managing various EHS disciplines
- Maintains highly confidential and sensitive information
