As a Managing Consultant, Environmental Permitting in our Denver, Colorado office, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring projects meet regulatory standards while advancing innovation in oil & gas, electric transmission, and renewable energy. What You’ll Bring
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental studies, planning, geography, civil/environmental engineering, or related field.
4+ years of experience in environmental impact assessment, siting, and permitting for energy projects.
Strong knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and state siting regulations.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams in a consulting environment.
Excellent technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and GIS tools.
Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

Preferred:
Experience working with regulatory agencies in the U.S. Southwest (CO, NM, UT, NV, TX).
Familiarity with AI tools for environmental analysis.
Business development experience, including proposal writing and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multi-site projects from planning through execution, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are met.
Prepare and review siting and permit applications for federal, state, and local authorities.
Develop environmental plans (erosion control, stormwater, spill prevention, restoration).
Lead agency and stakeholder engagement to secure approvals and maintain compliance.
Oversee quality assurance and risk management for all deliverables.
Collaborate with ERM teams on impact assessments, routing studies, and facility siting.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to their technical and consulting growth.
Support business development through proposals and client relationship building.
For the Managing Consultant, Environmental Permitting position, the anticipated annual base pay is $80,800 – $118,233 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
