Responsible for executing design activities across BorgWarner’s global engineering centers in collaboration with international design teams. Key duties include:
Developing and adapting design concepts using advanced CAD tools based on customer and engineering input.
Creating accurate 2D drawings and 3D models, including assemblies, layouts, and stack-ups.
Utilizing CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, and Unigraphics NX for product design.
Demonstrating creativity, strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and tolerance management.
Fostering team collaboration and taking initiative on challenging tasks
Execute engineering design tasks (3D/2D modeling, drawings, documentation) using CAD tools like Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, AutoCAD, etc.
ØApply ISO Geometrical Product Specifications (ISO GPS) per automotive standards; convert legacy 2D drawings to 3D models.
ØCollaborate with global engineering teams and customers to support design-related activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
ØCreate and update Assembly Bills of Materials (BOMs) to maintain accurate product structures.
ØUtilize Product Data Management (PDM) tools like Teamcenter for efficient document and data management.
ØCommunicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
ØMaintain and improve design standards, work instructions, and drafting practices.
ØEnsure compliance with BorgWarner standards, confidentiality, and quality systems.
ØMentor peers; review and check drawings to meet FTR (First Time Right) targets.
ØPerform basic analysis using CAD layouts, stack-ups, and FEA tools.
Participate in safety audits.
ØGender: Both Male and Female are preferred
ØBachelor’s degree in mechanical; Production; Automotive; electrical & Electronics; Electronics & communication; Mechatronics engineering.
ØMinimum of 4–7 years in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and drawing release
ØExpert in Creo (2000+ hours preferred), working knowledge of SolidWorks, UG and Catia
ØStrong expertise in ISO GPS, drawing interpretation, and Microsoft Office tools
ØExperience in casting design and manufacturing processes; understanding of casting–machining relationships
ØFamiliar with tooling, pattern making, and casting methods (sand, permanent Mold, investment)
ØKnowledge of turbocharger components is a plus.
ØExposure to iron casting technology, tooling, and international standards
ØGood knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
ØExcellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills required
