Job Summary:
The Grade Supervisor is responsible for managing the people and processes involved in grade yield and grade sales to achieve organizational goals. This role ensures safety, quality, and efficiency while monitoring metrics, pricing, and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise all graders and grade procedures
- Monitor Unloading
- Manage inventory/warehouse
- Support in/out dispatch/transportation
- Monitor and communicate metrics
- Support loss prevention
- Directly supervise grade team and oversee their work
- Train and audit grading staff to ensure compliance and quality
- Review work of others within the department or through project teams
- Lead the department and manage performance, including hiring and termination decisions
- Maintain full responsibility for the grade function
- Manage labor, supplies, and expenses within the grading function
- Ensure achievement of sales budget goals
- Oversee accounts receivable and collections processes
- Ensure compliance with established rules and guidelines
- Recommend changes to improve processes and standards
- Develop departmental standards and set overall priorities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze and report data using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- In-depth knowledge of tire types and tread wear.
- Ability to predict yield based on historical and market data.
- Strong leadership skills to manage grade teams.
- Ability to structure workflow and lead sales teams.
- Skilled in training and auditing grading processes.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred; strong interpersonal and team communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Deadline-driven, independent judgment, critical thinking, financial management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs; frequent standing, bending, climbing, and driving.
- Outdoor work in extreme temperatures, exposure to noise, dust, and fumes; overtime and holiday work required.
- Computer, forklift, PPE, and other standard tools.
