Connected Energy allows Zenith to operate as a vertically integrated licensed electricity utility – generator, distributor, and retailer. Connected Energy has three Microgrids in its portfolio: Peel Business Park, Ocean Reef Marina, and Eglinton Village.

About the Role

The Connected Energy team is seeking a Renewable Systems & Technology Project Manager to lead the delivery of new renewable energy microgrid projects across our portfolio.

In this role, you will work closely with Business Development to shape front-end engineering and design, and project-manage all post-contract activities through the full lifecycle including procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover to Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead project planning, procurement, and delivery of renewable energy assets, including distributed energy resources (DER), and battery energy storage systems (BESS) and associated protection systems aligned with ZCE’s embedded network strategy

Influence front-end engineering and design by guiding Business Development to ensure concepts are practical, buildable, and aligned with delivery requirements

Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation from concept through to commissioning

Coordinate with developers, internal teams, and suppliers to finalise engineering and protection designs

Oversee deployment and integration of protection systems to ensure safe, reliable microgrid operation

Manage contractor and vendor engagements, ensuring technical compliance, quality control, and milestone delivery

Develop and maintain operational documentation, technical specifications, and commissioning reports

About You

As the Renewable Systems & Technology Project Manager, you will bring experience from the energy or utility sector, along with strong technical and project delivery capability. You will have:

Experience and understanding of solar farms, DER, BESS, and associated protection systems

Knowledge of microgrid design, integration and operations

Proven experience managing microgrid projects across the full lifecycle, from design through to construction and commissioning

Strong understanding of electrical systems, protection systems, and grid interconnection standards

The ability to influence and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
