Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance with applicable air, hazardous waste, wastewater and storm water permits, plans, regulations, etc.
Ability to interpret environmental laws and permit requirements, stay abreast of the changing regulatory landscape and analyze the various options for complying with new regulations and permit requirements.
Coordinate the reporting and record keeping activities for facility’s permits and other environmental regulatory reporting requirements and corporate sustainability data tracking requirements.
Provide oversight and guidance for permitting and implementation of environmental regulations on various new or developing projects
Update and deliver environmental training programs as required to ensure compliance with regulations and permits
Interface with Environmental Regulatory Agencies, Corporate environmental health and safety leadership & lead inspections and audits.
Maintain and update Hazardous Waste Management program.
Develop and conduct periodic Environmental audits and assessments, document findings and assisting plant leadership in resolving discrepancies.
Lead plant in the design and or improvement of processes that minimize environmental hazards and reduce waste as a primary objective
Lead ISO-14001 Sustaining.
Evaluate risks & incidents and identify areas where costs and loss can be improved.
Development of environmental training materials.
Conduct training where area subject matter expert is needed
Implement processes to comply with the obligations of the permits, plans and regulations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (Environmental, Health and Safety; Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical or Bio-systems Engineering or a related field preferred) OR 5 years of relative experience.
Minimum of 2 yrs relative experience.
Experience in managing environmental compliance including reporting and record keeping, environmental permitting.
