Job Title: Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) Branch Manager.
Supervises activities of branch personnel providing environmental compliance, pollution prevention, hazardous material/waste management, natural resources, ground safety, and industrial hygiene support to Arnold AFB. Has overall responsibility for personnel management from hiring, training, evaluating subordinate performance and initiating disciplinary processes when necessary.
Responsibilities
Assigns work and supervises personnel performing a variety of environmental, occupational health and safety activities in support of the Air Force.
Interprets contract and performance work statement (PWS) requirements and develops training, plans, procedures and schedules to ensure compliance with contract performance standards.
Oversees self-inspection program to assess program compliance and reports results to Gov COR.
Participates in client no-notice inspections and responds to deficiencies.
Communicates with clients, company management and staff to investigate and resolve complaints regarding meeting performance standards.
Requisitions and maintains inventory of supplies, materials and equipment; maintains records of purchases and provides periodic reports on usage to ensure expenditure are within allotted budget.
Maintains personnel, time, and leave/holiday records and work schedules; reviews and approves timecards to ensure compliance with timecard and time charging policies and procedures.
Evaluates the performance of subordinate staff; counsels, documents, and initiates and participates in the disciplinary process to enforce company policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
Coordinates the operation and care of vehicles and equipment.
Communicates with staff, clients, vendors, and administrator in person or in writing by preparing and completing a variety of forms, reports, memos and email.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in an Environmental Science related field, Safety or Occupational Health.
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in SHE related work.
Desired Qualification:
Supervisory experience over a SHE works center.
OSHA authorized 10 and 30 hours.
