Job Description Summary
The Global Leader for Material Handling Automation will lead the development and deployment of automation strategies for warehouse operations and physical material flow within workshops across our internal network of manufacturing plants.
This role will play a pivotal part in transforming our intralogistics systems to support the growth of our manufacturing activities achieving higher efficiency, warehouse surface improvement, better accuracy and traceability, and safety .
We will launch pilot projects, where local factories can propose solutions and test innovative technologies. Based on those pilots, the leader will coordinate the selection of some global strategic suppliers and solutions to ensure standardized, scalable automation solutions across all sites.
The role will work in close partnership with the Central Material Management Team to define and optimize internal material flow strategies, MRP parametrization, and Kanban system design, ensuring alignment between automation solutions and global material management standards
Job Description
Strategy and Governance
Develop the global roadmap for warehouse and intralogistics automation aligned with PT robotics & automation leader and in coordination with unit leaders, central material management team as well as Industry 4.0 strategies.
Lead the transition from local pilot projects to global standardization and deployment.
Lead the first project(s) implementation in the Warehouse of the Dead tank factory in Charleroi – PA-
Establish governance models, design standards, and technical guidelines for automation solutions.
Program / Project Leadership
Oversee the execution of pilot automation projects across selected factories.
Manage multi-disciplinary global teams (Operations, Engineering, IT, Procurement, and Material Management).
Ensure all automation initiatives meet safety, quality, and ROI objectives.
Define and track performance metrics (throughput, part delivery & inventory accuracy, labor efficiency, number of AMR implemented, …)
Monitor global initiative progress. During PT R&A Monthly steerco meeting present the KPIs, progress against Overall project timelines, CAPEX, Milestone achievements key challenges and potential support needed
Process / System Design
Complete the mapping of current warehouse-to-production material flows and identify automation opportunities.
Define ROI, payback period, and performance KPIs for proposed automation investments in coordination with the units
Performed a comprehensive mapping of the different warehouses in our factories (organization & tasks, surface, FTE per process, type of equipment) and the associated outputs (number of kits delivered per day, kanban)
Collaborate with the Central Material Management Team to:
Define internal flow logic, material map parametrization, and Kanban system configuration.
Ensure automation design fully supports replenishment, part delivery, and disposal loops.
Specify integration requirements with ERP, and MES systems for full traceability.
Evaluate and design systems using AGVs/AMRs, AS/RS, conveyors, robotic picking, and IoT data capture.
Supplier Management
Support local sites in evaluating and running pilot projects with potential suppliers.
Identified a comprehensive list of suppliers capable to support automation.
Lead the global selection of 3–4 suppliers capable of supporting our worldwide operations.
Oversee supplier governance, ensuring compliance with performance, standardization, and cost targets.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $122,600.00 and $204,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
