The Safety Specialist plays a critical role in strengthening the safety culture across the Cooling, Power & Connectivity division. Serving as a trusted advisor to HVAC, Generator, UPS, Field Engineering, and Tower teams, this role directly shapes operational safety outcomes by conducting independent investigations, designing safety programs, evaluating risk, and influencing field and leadership decisions. Through strategic analysis of safety metrics and hands-on field engagement, the Safety Specialist ensures compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, EPA, DOT, and customer requirements—ultimately reducing risk, improving driver and electrical safety performance, and elevating the overall safety maturity of the division.

Lead incident investigations—including injuries, vehicle collisions, property damage, and near misses—conducting root cause analysis and establishing corrective and preventive actions.

Design, develop, and deliver safety training programs (LOTO, NFPA 70E, electrical safety, energized work, defensive driving, incident prevention, etc.).

Develop, revise, and implement safety procedures, safe work practices, checklists, and field guidance documents across multiple technical service lines.

Analyze leading and lagging indicators (TRIR, DART, PVIR, telematics, electrical exposure data) to identify risks and shape continuous improvement strategies.

Conduct independent field evaluations, recommend hazard controls, and escalate unsafe conditions requiring immediate action.

Lead improvements to the driver safety program, including telematics review, operator coaching, and development of vehicle safety expectations.

Partner with operations leadership to provide expert guidance on hazard mitigation, regulatory compliance, and safety program enhancements.

Prepare and present safety reports, trend analyses, and program recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders.

Conduct routine field observations, job audits, and site inspections.

Facilitate toolbox talks, support safety meetings, and assist with safety communications and documentation.

Support customer audits, OSHA inspections, and regulatory reporting as required.

Experience: Minimum 3 years in field safety or safety coordination within HVAC, Generator, Tower, Telecom, Power, UPS, or Field Engineering environments.

Technical Knowledge:

Electrical safety, LOTO, NFPA 70E

Confined space, lockout/tagout procedures

Vehicle/driver safety, defensive driving, telematics

Regulatory Expertise: OSHA, EPA, DOT; Cal/OSHA preferred.

Independent Judgment: Ability to make sound decisions in investigations, field assessments, safety program design, and risk mitigation.

Field Autonomy: Capability to manage independent fieldwork, travel extensively, and self-prioritize multiple initiatives.

Training & Program Development: Experience creating and delivering safety materials tailored to technical field teams.

Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, CHST, CSHO, ASP, or equivalent.
