Position Summary
The Fleet Manager will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all company vehicles and heavy equipment used across uranium extraction, processing, and support operations. This role ensures that all fleet activities support safe, compliant, and cost-effective transportation and equipment performance across multiple sites. The Fleet Manager will play a key role in ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and sustainability aligned with the company’s environmental and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Operations & Management
- Oversee the acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of all company vehicles and mobile equipment (light-duty, heavy-duty, and specialized mining vehicles).
- Manage daily fleet logistics across multiple field and processing locations, ensuring equipment availability and optimal performance.
- Build system to maintain accurate inventory records, service schedules, and asset tracking for all vehicles and equipment.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
Safety, Compliance & Environmental Stewardship
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations (DOT, OSHA, EPA, and NRC requirements as applicable).
- Enforce safety policies and vehicle operation standards across all departments.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure proper documentation for licensing, registration, and insurance.
- Partner with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team to maintain best practices in fuel efficiency, emissions control, and spill prevention.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage the annual fleet budget, including capital expenditures, maintenance, and fuel costs.
- Negotiate and oversee service contracts with vendors, repair shops, and equipment suppliers.
- Analyze and report on fleet costs, utilization metrics, and performance trends to support operational efficiency.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise fleet maintenance personnel and contractors, providing training and performance feedback.
- Collaborate closely with operations, and maintenance teams to align fleet support with production schedules and site needs.
- Support emergency response and mobilization logistics as required.
