Control Solutions, a Crete United Company is a full service Honeywell ECI-Elite level Building Automation/Controls installation and service company. The Install group is responsible for the installation of the components, equipment, and devices of building automation projects within the Controls division or in support of other division within the company (Service, HVAC Install, etc). Working in the field and in front of customers/contractor, the Install group is often the face of the company with a great opportunity to represent the company in a professional manner. The Controls Foreman acts as a project lead for projects directly assigned. Controls Foreman will assist Project Managers in the successful installation and delivery of controls projects. Acting in a supervisory role, it is the expectation of the management group that this individual possesses all the skills/abilities to oversee and direct Controls Installers in the field to ensure that projects are installed in a workmanlike manner.
The Controls Foreman will work under the supervision/direction of the Project Manager and provide regular field updates to the management group to ensure that manpower, material, and other project resources are properly allocated and scheduled to ensure the successful, timely, and profitable delivery of every project they are directly assigned.
Quality will be maintained in adherence to department standards and it is the responsibility of the Controls Foreman to know and apply the standards on every project to which they are assigned as well as train and mentor Controls Installers on the application of these standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a field leader on projects directly assigned to assist with the installation of building automation systems
- Ability to receive direction/instruction from Project Managers and carry out tasks in a workman like manner
- Ability to give direction/instruction to Controls Installers and ensure tasks are completed in a workmanlike manner
- Carry out wiring of low voltage and communication systems to building automation and HVAC equipment
- Perform and oversee the installation of conduit, tubing, BAS controllers, and HVAC sensors/components
- Responsible for ensuring that installation components (ie: conduit, cable, wire, fittings, etc) are properly procured from vendors and delivered and laid out on the site to ensure timely and efficient install
- Coordinate with warehouse staff in the delivery of components or tools needed for the project
- Attend and participate various construction meetings on projects directly assigned and be prepared to provide updates to the contracting team regarding job progress, issues, or coordination items
- Attend Engineering to Field turnover meetings
- Assist Software Technicians in the completion of point-to-point, system functionality checks, and project commissioning
- Generate and complete project checkout documentation prior to Software implementation
- Assist the Project Manager in the generation and completion of various project documentation (ie: updating project schedules, two-week lookaheads, RFIs, redline drawings, job re-estimates, etc)
- Assist the Software Technician in Owner’s Training
- Responsible for ensuring that every project is installed in adherence to department standards of quality
- Responsible for addressing and correcting punch list items prior to project completion
- Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management
