We’re seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to execute the company’s strategy for environmental approvals, licensing, and compliance obligations across our WA operations.
The Opportunity
Based in our Perth corporate office, with regular travel to site, this role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and provides both strategic input and hands-on execution of all environmental functions.
This is a senior role within the overall corporate teams, taking care of the function, without the worry of direct reports. This position will work collaboratively across departments and with site personnel to deliver environmental outcomes, manage monitoring data, and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake environmental approvals, licences, and compliance processes for Aurenne operations.
- Liaise with DMIRS, DWER, and other regulatory authorities to obtain, amend, and maintain environmental approvals.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring programs and data analysis with site teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review, interpret, and report on monitoring data, identifying trends and ensuring compliance with conditions and commitments.
- Maintain and continuously improve the company’s Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Provide high-level environmental advice and support to senior management and operational teams.
- Prepare reports, submissions, and updates on environmental performance for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support incident response, corrective actions, and environmental risk management.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in environmental approvals, compliance, and stakeholder engagement within the mining industry.
- Sound understanding of WA environmental and mining legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage environmental activities independently and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Willingness to travel to site as required.
Why Join Aurenne?
- Operate independently in a key position, supported by an experienced and approachable executive team.
- Work closely with decision-makers who value initiative, integrity, and efficiency.
