This position will focus on continued improvement of the sites Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program and ensure continued compliance. Over the next 1-2 years the monitoring requirements will be expanded for the site and will require someone that can schedule, coordinate, and perform monitoring to meet applicable deadlines. In addition, this person will be tasks with identifying and implementing strategies to improve efficiency of the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain competent understanding of applicable state and federal ESH regulations and guidelines and apply to field identification and monitoring.
- Understand LDAR and S&H program databases, including managing LDAR component (e.g., valves, connectors, pumps, etc.) data and monitoring routes.
- Perform routine maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment. Manage LDAR equipment in ESH lab including calibration gases, monitoring equipment, spare parts, and preventative maintenance schedule.
- Coordinate routine activities within and outside work group, including monitoring route(s) and conducting required monitoring by following proper regulatory calibration and monitoring techniques.
- Conduct ESH field and record audits and ensure storage in record retention for designated ESH programs.
- Provide technical support and training to operations personnel.
- Support compilation of the LDAR semi-annual report to government agencies. Includes monthly data compilation to ensure data is available during reporting in Q2 and Q4 each year.
- Perform periodic reviews of LDAR department operating guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma and 5 years’ experience as a production operator OR Bachelors degree in a science field.
- Ability to read and apply regulatory requirements in a heavily regulated environment
- Strong grammar/composition/editing/proofreading/attention to detail skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately
- Ability to write and revise new and established controlled documents (procedures, training, etc.) with the required amount of detail
- Self-directed, self-managed, reliable, and capable of success with minimal supervision
- Project management skills – complete assigned tasks on time with the ability to prioritize in an environment of competing demands
- Must be proficient in using computers and have experience in MS Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn other computer software programs.
- Familiarity with production equipment and process flows (line tracing is required for LDAR portion of role)
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance on a routine basis.
- Able to conduct scheduled monitoring in the production environment, which involves:
- Carrying an approximately 12-pound monitor;
- Using stairs and ladders to perform some tasks; and
- Using a man lift to perform some tasks.
- Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Able to periodically work in a high noise/high temperature environment (with proper PPE).
