JOB PURPOSE:
The Inside Sales Manager leads and develops BayWa r.e.’s Inside Sales team, driving revenue growth through proactive customer engagement, account management, and collaboration with Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs). This role is critical in supporting solar installers, contractors, and EPC partners by ensuring our customers receive timely product knowledge, accurate quoting, and world-class service. The Inside Sales Manager works cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to deliver a best-in-class customer experience and support BayWa’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition.
This role will report to Director, Inside Sales.

- The salary for this position is $100k-$110k OTE. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing Inside Sales team focused on customer success and revenue generation.
- Set clear sales goals, KPIs, and activity expectations; track team performance and provide coaching.
- Partner with HR to recruit, onboard, and train new team members with an emphasis on solar product knowledge and sales skills.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop inside sales strategies aligned with BayWa’s growth objectives and vendor partnerships.
- Collaborate with OSRs to drive pipeline growth, qualify opportunities, and convert leads to drive revenue.
- Ensure accurate and timely quoting, order entry, and pipeline management within NetSuite CRM.
- Align with Marketing to support campaigns, webinars, and vendor promotions that generate leads and drive product adoption.
Customer & Vendor Engagement
- Build strong relationships with solar installer and contractor customers to ensure repeat business and long-term loyalty.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex customer needs, working with Operations and Supply Chain to resolve issues quickly.
- Support vendor partnerships by promoting featured lines, rebates, and co-selling initiatives.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business insights to Sales leadership.
- Identify trends in customer demand, pricing, and product availability to inform inventory and procurement decisions.
- Continuously refine sales processes, CRM use, and team workflows to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 2+ years in sales management (distribution or solar/renewables preferred).
- Experience in B2B sales with a strong focus on customer service and account management.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of solar products, including modules, inverters, racking, and EBOS components.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with proven success building sales teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in NetSuite (or equivalent ERP/CRM), Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.
- Data-driven with the ability to forecast, analyze trends, and create actionable sales strategies.
- Customer-first mindset with a passion for renewable energy and sustainable solutions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Oversee day to day people management (approximately a team of 7-10), which includes weekly 1:1s, goal setting, upskilling of employees, providing or finding mentorship for growth opportunities and overseeing performance management.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
