The primary
objective of the CSO is to provide executive
leadership, advisory and strategic guidance in working towards the realization
of a Corporate Sustainability Strategy to the Company''s Board, CEO and EXMA.<\/span>
<\/p>
In pursuance of
this primary objective, the CSO is required to: -<\/span>
<\/p>
1. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Establish, implement and
maintain Sustainability policies, procedures, and practices;<\/span>
<\/p>
2. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Create awareness on
sustainability policies, procedures and practices to staff at all levels;<\/span>
<\/p>
3. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop and implement
Sustainability long and short term strategies with clear and SMART targets to
encourage best practices;<\/span>
<\/p>
4. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Supervise employees or
volunteers working on sustainability projects;<\/span>
<\/p>
5. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Play advisory role on
sustainability to Executive Management and the Board;<\/span>
<\/p>
6. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Research environmental
sustainability issues, concerns, or stakeholder interests;<\/span>
<\/p>
7. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop methodologies to
assess the viability or success of sustainability initiatives;<\/span>
<\/p>
8. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Work with Marketing &
Communications and participate in relevant external platforms on sustainability
issues on behalf of the Company, playing an advocacy role to ensure the Company is well
position in the market from a brand perspective<\/span>
<\/p>
9. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Evaluate and approve
proposals for sustainability projects, considering factors such as cost
effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other initiatives;<\/span>
<\/p>
10. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Devise the best tools and
systems to monitor performance and to implement strategies;<\/span>
<\/p>
11. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assessing, analyzing, and
collating Sustainability performance data and reporting information to internal
staff, clients, and regulatory bodies;<\/span>
<\/p>
12. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Integrate Sustainability
Principles and ISO 26000:2020 into all business processes;<\/span>
<\/p>
13. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Conduct Sustainability
Assessments for all projects and ensure that the sustainability principles are
incorporated accordingly;<\/span>
<\/p>
14. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop and publish an annual
Sustainability report as per the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI);<\/span>
<\/p>
15. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure Compliance to all
Sustainability related commitments (Local, Provincial, National and
International);<\/span>
<\/p>
16. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop and Maintain a Sustainability
Legal Register to ensure compliance with legal requirements;<\/span>
<\/p>
17. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Keeping up to date with relevant
changes in Sustainability, related legislations and initiatives including
international legislation where applicable;<\/span>
<\/p>
18. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Managing Sustainability
strategy budgets;<\/span>
<\/p>
19. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Acting as a champion or
cheerleader for Sustainability issues within the Company;<\/span>
<\/p>
20. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop breakthrough
innovations and projects to enhance the Company’s positive contribution to
sustainability;<\/span>
<\/p>
21. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Lead relevant research and
innovation initiatives.<\/span>
<\/p>
22. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oversee all the Company’s
Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality functions, to ensure integration
into all its activities and achieve high levels of compliance and standards including, gaining and retaining the relevant ISO certifications and / or other
relevant performance standards.<\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>
1. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Post -graduate degree in
Environmental Science and Sustainability or other related feels including Earth
/ Natural Sciences;<\/span>
<\/span>2. <\/span><\/span><\/span>A qualification in
resource / sustainability economics will be an added advantage;<\/span>
<\/span>3. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Minimum 5 -10 years of senior
management work experience with environmental and sustainability sciences
coupled with risk management of infrastructure / energy / industry;<\/span>
<\/span>4. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience in project
management, including leading expert teams and working with senior stakeholders;<\/span>
<\/span>5. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong knowledge of
and experience working with Local and International Environmental standards and
systems.<\/span>

proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.<\/span>

organizational skills and attention to detail.<\/span>

create, interpret, and execute a budget.<\/span>
<\/span>8. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Presentation
skills required to deliver proposals to varying groups of individuals.<\/span>
